Shopify tells you a store did AED 400,000 last month. Finance says the real number is closer to AED 310,000 once VAT and unremitted COD get stripped out. Both are "right," which is exactly the problem.

Shopify's native analytics were built assuming card-first checkout and single-currency reporting. Most UAE DTC brands run neither. Cash-on-delivery still makes up a huge share of orders here, and a lot of stores price in AED while running ad spend in USD. Shopify's dashboard doesn't know how to reconcile any of that, so it just doesn't try.
